JUAN DAVID LOPEZ is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area in California. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley (“Berkeley”) and went on to earn his law degree from the University of Miami School of Law, cum laude.
Before graduating from law school, Juan worked very closely with Edward Montoya, partner to Montoya | Lopez, P.L. and assisted Mr. Montoya in the preparation of many cases including airline disasters, Ford rollover crashes, personal injuries, maritime claims and medical malpractice matters.
As a Florida Supreme Court certified legal intern with the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office, Juan performed nearly all of the same tasks and duties as licensed Florida State prosecutor. Juan appeared on behalf of the People of the State of Florida in court, prosecuting the State’s case against accused misdemeanor violators, filing and arguing motions for stay away orders for victims of domestic abuse and trying traffic violation cases. Juan’s experience with the State Attorney’s Office solidified his aspirations of becoming an attorney and formed his ability and effectiveness to argue in court on behalf of his clients.
As a litigation associate to the firm, Juan is involved in prosecuting wrongful death, product liability and medical malpractice related cases. Juan has settled and brought to resolution many high valued cases involving several complex civil litigation matters. Juan is a valuable asset to the firm and is an up and coming trial lawyer among his peers.
