TOYOTA RECALL LITIGATION INFORMATION

In the recent months, Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc. has recalled various vehicles due to defects which may cause serious injuries to drivers and passengers. The company is offering to fix the defects at no cost.  But there is a hidden cost to the owner of the vehicle which is not being addressed by Toyota.  If you are the owner of a Toyota car, truck or SUV the reality is that your Toyota automobile may have decreased in value. What you may not have considered is that even if Toyota fixes the problems and no one is injured from the defects, the recent barrage of news has resulted in a negative image for the Toyota brand.  The price of the cars will inevitably decrease as more and more people refrain from purchasing Toyotas as a result of the negative publicity.  Historically, Toyota automobiles possess a high resale value.  But now, with safety concerns in some of the vehicles, it may become harder to sell new and used Toyota automobiles. As Toyota continues to make headlines in the internet, television and newspapers, residual values for their vehicles are expected to decrease further.

The MONTOYA LAW FIRM, P.A. is investigating the possibility of filing a class action lawsuit in order to recover the loss of re-sale value for your vehicle by evoking a legal theory known as “diminution of value”.  Under this legal theory, the owners of Toyota automobiles can claim compensation for the amount of depreciation that occurred as a result of the decreased market value of their car.  If you are interested in learning more about this class action lawsuit, please fill out the questionnaire and an experienced attorney form our office will contact you.  Please make sure to include your e-mail address.  If you have any additional questions, you may also contact us at 305-666-5353 in Miami, Florida.
